Poverty Action Coalition: Community Investors - The Community Investors Initiative is intended to help people in Waterville who are living below the poverty line and cannot have their needs met by other services available.Maine State Housing Authority - MaineHousing is an independent state agency that offers services to benefit Maine’s low and moderate-income homebuyers, renters, homeowners, homeless individuals and more.Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP) – KVCAP serves the people of Kennebec, Somerset, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, offering a wide range of services including: Heating Assistance, Electric Bill Assistance, Foreclosure Prevention, Heating System Repairs, HomeBuyer Education, Home Repair Program, Weatherization, Transportation Services Employment Services Child and Family Services, including Childcare, and more.House of Hope - The Betsy Ann Ross House of Hope is the only non-profit transitional housing in Maine dedicated to s erving eligible women veterans and their children who are currently experiencing, or are at risk for, homelessness.Habitat for Humanity - Provides volunteer, homeownership and employment opportunities for participants interested in building a better home and future for themselves and their families.The FVP also manages a small number of apartments that eligible clients can rent. Family Violence Project– The Family Violence Project provides temporary emergency housing for people fleeing domestic abuse or who are homeless because of an abusive domestic partner.Additionally, several of the resources listed also provide homeownership programs, etc. * While several of the following programs/resources are limited to those who are currently homeless, there are many that are not.
